Throughout the year, the Museum schedules visits of aircraft and other items we feel will be of interest to the public. We attempt to schedule these well in advance and post this information in the Events section of this site. Quite often, however, these planes show up on short notice and add to our collection only momentarily.
When you arrive for your visit, you never know what you are going to find sitting on our ramp.
The Heinkel pictured above was once the personal transport of Franco who was dictator of Spain during and after WWII. While on approach to Cheyenne, WY. in July 2003, it suffered engine failure before landing, and crashed. There were no survivors, and the aircraft was destroyed. This was the last Heinkle 111 flying in the world.
