Throughout the year, the Palm Springs Air Museum offers its visitors informative programs based events of World War II and historical aviation. These may be commemorating battles such as Coral Sea, Midway, Battle of the Bulge or Iwo Jima. These may be recognizing the contributions of such groups as the WASPS (Women Air Service Pilots), Tuskegee Airmen, Pearl Harbor Survivors or Prisoners of War. Programs recognizing little known parts of World War II such as the CBI (China-Burma-India) theater of war or the Aleutians Campaign are often scheduled events.
For most of these programs, you will have the opportunity to hear from those who were there. Learn first hand informaton what happened and the how, when, where and why. Supportive documentation such as original photographs, related artwork, and other materials are most often part of these presentations. More importantly, these programs often culminate with a flight demonstration of an aircraft that performed (or was used by) the event.
These program schedules, generally on Saturday, appear well in advance on our Events page and provide a rare opportunity for our visitors to meet and learn from participants of World War II.
