The James C. Ray Educational Center and Library was formed as a facility specializing in World War II aviation and its effect on history and society. The objective is to provide to the public a completely functional, state-of-the-art, educational center. The center will focus on offering students training in aviation-related subjects as well as historical background of the WWII era.
In addition to over 6,300 volumes relating to aviation and WWII subject matter, the library has accumulated all of the Life Magazines issued between the first issue in 1936 through 1949. Other magazine collections include Colliers, Look, National Geographic and a large number of various flight and military magazines.
PSAM Library Volunteer Dr. Dave Thompson has access to many vintage Life Magazines (the large one first published in 1936) and original Life Magazines (a humor magazine published from 1883 to 1936.) These authentic weekly Life Magazines make great birthday gifts. They begin at $30.00. Contact Dr. Thompson at for more information.
